Detailed description is The itsy bitsy park on the great big lake! Hart State Outdoor Recreation Area comprises 147 acres on the shores of Lake Hartwell just outside the City Of Hartwell, GA (GPS N34.376433 W 082.910555).
Lake Hartwell is approximately 59 miles long and forms the border between Georgia and South Carolina.
The park has day use/picnic areas and boat ramp on a peninsula of Lake Hartwell plus campsites along the shore.
There are 62 tent, trailer, rv campsites and 16 walk-in tent campsites.
Most of the campsites are on the lake or have a lake view.
Boat ramps are available in the park.
Campsites are obtained by self-reservation and cost between $19 - $26 per night.
Campsites are available from March 15 to September 15.
