Basic Pistol Course with Ohio’s requirements mixed in.
Class will be a approximately 10 hours.
I offer a 1 day or 2 day class.
If anyone has special needs please contact me so arrangements can be made.

-If you already own a pistol you are encouraged to bring it.
There are 22(long rifle) caliber pistols to loan for shooting qualification if someone would like to use them.
If you do not own a pistol and are unsure of what type of firearm you may want for a carry gun, there are several CCW style pistols available to give you an idea of what you may like (or dislike), including .380, 9mm, .40S&W, & .45ACP.
Also covered in class are considerations when buying a gun..

-You will need a minimum of 100 rounds of ammo PER PERSON.
If you are having troubles finding ammo, let me know.
I can usually come up with some at a fair price.
Even if you are using my pistols, bring your own ammo or let me know you need ammo, and I will give you a price for 100 rounds..

-For lunch, we usually order pizza, although there are other options available.
We will discuss these the morning of class.
You may also pack your own lunch if you prefer.
There is a microwave available if needed.
Pop, coffee, bottled water & doughnuts are available throughout the day.
If you need something more substantial than doughnuts to hold you over until lunch, feel free to bring a heartier snack with you..

-Class sizes are kept small, 8 people at the most.
That allows a higher quality of class and provides more 1 on 1 time.
You don’t always get that with other instructors.

- If you have a group, I may be able to come to your place to hold the class.

What you will need for class:.
-Eye protection (ANSI Z87 or better, rated safety glasses) .
-Ear protection (plugs and/or muffs).
-Pen, paper & possibly a highlighter.

-Dress appropriately for the weather.
We will be outside for 2 hours or more shooting rain or shine.
We have a pop up tent to shoot from if it is raining.
Waterproof footwear is recommended for bad weather..

Beginner’s classes are also offered.
They include firearm safety, pistol orientation, shooting instruction, and what to look for when buying a gun.
There is also an introductory to reloading class for anyone who might be considering loading their own ammo (pistol, rifle, or shotgun).

Certified Instructor.
My certifications include Firearm Safety Instructor, Pistol Instructor, Shotgun Shell Reloading Instructor, Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor (pistol & rifle), and Range Safety officer.
