Detailed description is 佛光山是個菩薩道場，主張佛光人要先入世後出世，先度生後度死，先生活後生死，先縮小後擴大，以常住大眾及佛教事業為優先 道場介紹.
佛光山紐約道場創建於一九九一年，經整修後於一九九三年十月正式啟用．道場位於美國第一大都會紐約皇后區法拉盛，地點鬧中取靜，是座五層樓的建築物，約兩萬平方尺。其中設備含有可供約兩百人誦經禮懺的如來殿，觀音殿則有三百個座位，是聞法聽經的講堂。有可以供應五百人同時用齋的五觀堂，另有會議廳、簡報室、佛教文物流通處等，並設有專用停車場，搭乘地鐵或巴士也可到達，是紐約市區交通便捷的弘法道場。.
