Detailed description is Feuerwehr Braunschweig - Ortsfeuerwehr Hondelage Die Ortsfeuerwehr Hondelage ist eine von 30 freiwilligen Ortsfeuerwehren der Stadt Braunschweig.
Neben den freiwilligen Wehren befinden sich in Braunschweig drei Wachen der Berufsfeuerwehr (Hauptwache, Südwache, Flughafen)..

Als Einsatzfahrzeuge stehen uns ein LF 16/12 mit hydraulischem Rettungssatz und ein MTW zur Verfügung.

Unser Einsatzgebiet ist primär der Ortsteil Hondelage und die Bundesautobahn 2 zwischen den Anschlussstellen BS-Ost und BS-Flughafen in Fahrtrichtung Hannover.
Ab gewissen Einsatzstichworten rücken wir auch in den Nachbarort Dibbesdorf aus und unterstützen die dortige Ortsfeuerwehr.
Zu besonderen Einsätzen (Bombenräumungen, Hochwasser, Sturmschäden) rückt die OF Hondelage ins gesamte Stadtgebiet Braunschweig aus..

Zusammen mit den Ortsfeuerwehren Querum und Volkmarode bilden wir den "Fachzug 83 - Fachzug Rettung", einen von fünf Löschzügen der Freiwilligen Feuerwehren in Braunschweig.
Dieser Fachzug kann als vollwertiger Löschzug im gesamten Stadtgebiet, aber auch überörtlich eingesetzt werden.
Eine unserer Hauptaufgaben im Löschzug ist das Besetzen der Hauptwache der Berufsfeuerwehr, wenn diese bei Einsätzen längerfristig eingebunden ist.
Somit stellt in diesem Falle ein Löschzug der freiwilligen Feuerwehren den Grundschutz der Stadt Braunschweig sicher..
Der Fachzug 83 besteht im Einzelnen aus: .
