Grow the revolution! Ferndale Hill Farm was started by the Lipsey family in the early part of the 1900's and was purchased by the Flessas family in the late 1960's and reborn as Flessas Groves Inc.
We were hit by the freezes in 1985-1986 that caused citrus production to be pushed further south into Florida.

We built a 1 acre greenhouse and began commercial production of philodendron (various Ficus and Rubber trees) using synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.

We sought out government aid for lost product and facility repairs to no avail (banks got bailed out, we got sold out!).
