Detailed description is We are a private,non profit preschool that has been teaching children to love learning for close to 40 years.
We will have a website up very soon.
The Fannin County Preschool is located on Hwy.
5 in McCaysville in the Calvary Church Building.
It is a two year program for three and four year olds that helps the child develop socially, emotionally, physically and to develop a positive attitude toward learning.
We have been serving our community for 43 years.
We were incorporated into a Preschool in 1976.
We started out as a half day class and today we are proud to offer two classes each day while serving all area counties.

Curriculum: We offer a 2 day class on Tuesdays and Thursdays for children who will be three by September 1.
This class consists of social interaction with children their age.
We also work with manners, sharing, obeying rules along with basic skills such as the alphabet, shape recognition, hand-eye and visual conceptions.
We offer a 3 day class Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for children who will be four by September 1.
This class is more advanced.
Most of our three year olds have moved up into this class are preparing for kindergarten.
Along with what has been taught the year before, this class will include a variety of kindergarten preparatory skills, such as recognition of upper and lower case letters, recognition of numbers, student's address, phone numbers, tying shoes, full name, learning body parts, recognizing and drawing shapes, verbalizing the alphabet, and many more skills.
We also have many hands on experiments, community visitors (firemen, policemen etc.) We participate in charitable events such as collecting food for food drives.
We believe these are important learning experiences for children.

Our teachers are Michele Callihan and Roseann Tuttle.
Mrs.
Callihan is the lead teacher and assistant Director of the Preschool and has been with the school for 17 years.
Mrs.Tuttle is the support teacher and has 3 years experience with the school, and also has been teaching dance to children for most of her life.
Our teachers are committed to making this program the best possible learning experience of a young child's life.
Our goal is to make learning fun.
We want our students to enjoy coming to school with a smile on their face, and leaving counting the hours until they can come back!!.
Sandy Lohr is the Director of our Program and has been with the school 30 years, having just recently leaving the classroom due to an extended illness.
She is very much a part of all that we do.

Please remember, we are a Christian oriented Preschool and God is first and foremost the basis of the Fannin County Preschool.
That is why we remain private, accepting no funding from County, State or Federal governments.
We say the Pledge to the flag daily.
We sing America, and we tell the Christmas story, Easter story and also answer questions from the children about God and Jesus within their age limits.
