Familia Mimo se funda en 2012 inicialmente con el nombre de Cuerpo Escena, ofreciendo talleres cortos de Mimo Corporal Dramático y Pantomima en algunas ciudades del Perú (Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura, Cuzco y empieza una etapa en la gestión de eventos masivos en el año 2013 cuando, gracias a la motivación de Cholas Bravas, en Lima, y con el respaldo de la compañía Blanco y Negro Teatro, producen LA MARATÓN DE MIMO, celebración que reunía a cuatro artistas de diversas escuelas y generaciones, una vez al mes, en diversas salas de Lima metropolitana..

En 2015 adopta el nombre de Familia Mimo, decididos a reconocer la diversidad de formas, tendencias y escuelas que se generan a partir de la práctica de este lenguaje, establecer vínculos con las otras artes escénicas para comprender los procesos de búsqueda, formación y creación, así como establecer un punto de referencia donde puedan converger artistas interesados en el arte del Mimo como espacio de exploración, aprendizaje y creación escénica..

Es a inicios de 2016 que Familia Mimo asume la producción del Festival de Mimo de Lima, continuando los esfuerzos que durante años han logrado acercar este arte al público en distintas ciudades del Perú, renovando el vínculo, cercanía e interés de nuevo público y artistas.
