Detailed description is Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana - Sede Bogotá.
La Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas es la más antigua de las de la Universidad Javeriana, pues data del 1º de octubre de 1930, cuando fue restaurada.
Según consta en el Acta respectiva se conoció como Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Jurídicas y así debía llamarse hasta cuando tuviese el suficiente desarrollo, cuando debería dividirse en dos: Facultad de Derecho y Facultad de Ciencias Económicas..

De esta manera, durante muchos años en la Facultad, se expidieron los títulos de Doctor en Ciencias Jurídicas y Económicas, Doctor en Ciencias Jurídicas, y Doctor en Ciencias Económicas.
Cuando en 1964 las directivas de la Universidad crearon la Facultad de Economía, la Facultad de Derecho conservó en sus estudios los complementos en materia económica y social y sus títulos fueron los de Doctor en Ciencias Jurídicas y Doctor en Ciencias Jurídicas y Socioeconómicas..

En la actualidad la Facultad se denomina de Ciencias Jurídicas, pero conserva en su pensum las materias complementarias en cuanto a los conocimientos económicos, sociales y filosóficos, para dotar a sus egresados de las capacidades necesarias para el cumplimiento de la misión de la Universidad.
En la experiencia de la Facultad desde su restauración en 1930, se conoce que una capacitación no solamente en Ciencias Jurídicas sino complementada en forma amplia con las ciencias sociales y económicas, es la que mejor conviene a los intereses de la sociedad colombiana..
