Detailed description is We truly love keeping up with our puppies and have for many years, through photos and stories about puppies from Evergreen Labs..
Evergreen Labs is located in a very private, rural area in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
Our land is 32 acres and encompasses two beautiful spring-fed ponds and a pretty, rocky branch that flows into one of the spring-fed ponds.
Thirteen of the 32 acres of land is Green River-front property, which is undeveloped.

There are plenty of woods, trails, and pastures in which our dogs (and us) love to play.

We swim with them, play catch with them, but we are unable to fish with them because they scare the fish away and at times have gotten hooked..
My husband, Lelan and I raised three children here, all of which are now successful and on their own.

We always had dogs, some were rescues, but mainly Labradors.
When our children were young, Lelan and I thought it would be a wonderful learning experience for our children to witness the births and care for a litter of puppies.
At the time, we had a top-notch, extremely loving lab named Trout..
Because Trout was just so amazingly intelligent and loving, we wanted to keep his linage going.
Trout came from hunting background and had such natural instinct for hunting, as well as retrieving.
Neither my husband nor I are hunters.

We bought a second Lab, female named Bell who also had a impressive pedigree in hunting.
At the time we did not know this.
When she was two years old we bred her with our Trout.

A beautiful litter arrived and fortunately, we found each puppy a wonderful, loving home.
All went to people we knew, friends and family.
.
A few years later we had a second litter and again we gave them away to loving family and friends.
Our family kept up with each and every puppy and were able to enjoy watching them grow.

The word got out about our beautiful and intelligent puppies and we started receiving random phone calls from strangers inquiring if we had any puppies available.
We were so excited about this, and thus began researching and thinking about really breeding our Labs as a hobby and at the time, selling our wonderful puppies.
It was just something we all loved doing together as a family.
We had the time and the space to be able to do it, and we loved it! .
It was fun for our family and joyful to witness.
We were continually being contacted and most of the times we had no puppies because we did not keep litters on hand all the time.

Thus began Evergreen Labs.
We built two large Kennels, and began selling our puppies.
With each litter we kept a female, enabling us to carry on Trout's lineage.

Trout passed away being 2 month shy of turning fifteen years of age.
We now have four labs and one mutt, Jedi.
We goal is to improve the breed with each litter at a time, and we have.
We will continue to do so with a few litters at a time.

We have kept records on all of our labs and all of our litters since the beginning.
Our labs are well cared for and loved.
Our Vetrinarian, Dr.
Beverly Hargus, at Animals R Us knows us and our dogs very well ever since we had Trout.
She has cared for them, and tested them from the beginning.

Actually, Dr.
Hargus has cared for our pets even before Trout.
Many doctors and lawyers own our dogs, but loving good people is all that matters to us.
Our puppies have crossed state lines all the way to Kentucky and Georgia.

Our labs have no history of any genetic disorder.
Our dogs are OFA certified.
They are an American British mix leaning toward more American.

All are highly intelligent, loyal, loving and beautiful.

All have had great conformation and perfect temperament.
I am so proud and honored that 90% of the owners of our puppies have kept us up to date on their dogs by way of Facebook, email, Christmas cards and phone calls.
We delight in the news and photos!! .
