Detailed description is The European Law School has set itself the goal of offering its students an education that will meet the requirements of a truly European Lawyer.
The European Law School (network) was established in 2006 by its three founding members (King’s College London, Humboldt University and Université Panthéon-Assas, Paris 2) in order to establish and develop the European Lawyer programme (the ‘Juriste Européen’).
University of Rome La Sapienza (Rome, Italy) and the University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) have recently become members of this prestigious programme.

The “European Lawyer” study course is a combination of the two core contents that are necessary for a top legal profession today: the law on the national level and the European solutions.
Students on this programme pursue undergraduate studies at their home institution for three years and follow that by spending a year each at two of the three partner universities, obtaining a Masters degree at each.
During their fourth and fifth years, students concentrate on specialist subject areas.

Das Studium umfasst neben dem Jurastudium in Deutschland, das durch eine Europäische Ausrichtung ergänzt wird, ein zweijähriges Auslandsstudium, in dessen Rahmen ein Jahr in Paris oder Rom und ein weiteres Jahr in London (wahlweise Amsterdam) studiert wird.
Das Auslandsstudium wird dabei zusätzlich als Schwerpunktstudium im Rahmen der deutschen Ausbildungsordnung anerkannt, so dass es zum Erwerb des Ersten Juristischen Staatsexamens unabdingbar ist..
Für die Studienplätze auf deutscher Seite können sich überdurchschnittlich begabte und ambitionierte Studierende der Rechtswissenschaften bewerben, die mindestens zwei Semester mit überdurchschnittlichen Ergebnissen Rechtswissenschaft studiert haben und gute, durch Zertifikate ausgewiesene Kenntnisse der englischen (und/oder der französischen oder italienischen) Sprache besitzen.
Jedes Jahr stehen für beide Studienvarianten insgesamt 16 Studienplätze für die qualifiziertesten Bewerber zur Verfügung.
