A este gran músico y compositor se le rindió homenaje con la creación de la Escuela de Música "Lino Gallardo".
Institución adscrita al MPPC con sede en la Urbanización Altamira de esta ciudad.
Esta Escuela nació bajo la Dirección del eminente Guitarrista Manuel Enrique Pérez Díaz (1912-1984), además compositor y poeta muy apreciado en el medio musical venezolano.
La Escuela surgió de la antigua Escuela Popular de Música que a su vez había sido la Escuela Nacional del Folklore "Francisco Carreña".
Esta Escuela ha sido dirigida por Músicos de primera línea, en 1984 a raíz de la jubilación del Maestro Manuel Enrique Pérez Díaz, se encargó de la Dirección la Profesora Carmen de Addler, hasta 1991.
A partir de ese año la Dirección la ejercía la Profesora Carla Giordani, Pianista, Licenciada en Filosofía y Especialista en Desarrollo Organizacional.
Actualmente la dirige el Profesor Ángel Luís Pinero, Licenciado en Música, Profesor del IUDEM y Mandolinista integrante de la Orquesta Típica Nacional, quien con su entusiasmo dedicación y profesionalismo ha sabido dar nuevos horizontes a la Institución.
