Emerita Ladeia David de Castro, tratada afetivamente por Profª Ita, nasceu em Jacarari, no dia 12 de outubro de 1912..
Estudou os primeiros anos de sua formação educacional em Caetité.
Cursou a Escola Normal em Salvador, (onde) diplomando-se em Professora..
Depois de formada, sai de Salvador e volta para a sua terra, Jacarari, indo lecionar na zona rural, no Distrito de Irundiara.

Conhece o jovem Professora Everardo Público de Castro que, naquela ocasião, também lecionava na zona rural daquele município, num distrito chamado Boa Vista..
Ita e Everardo, depois de um romântico período de namoro e noivado, casaram-se em 1934..
Em março de 1939, mudaram-se para Vitória da Conquista e passaram a trabalhar juntos na Escola Estadual Barão de Macaúbas (onde hoje funciona o Fórum).

Com a criação do instituto de Educação Euclides Dantas, é aprovada em Concurso Público e passa a lecionar Desenho naquela Instituição.
