Foi instalado na parte térrea da prefeitura municipal (atual sede da Câmara de Vereadores), à rua Vivaldo Pereira de Araújo, inaugurado solenemente no dia 23 de janeiro de 1912, na administração do atual prefeito municipal, o Senhor Ladislau de Vaconcelos Galvão.
