Okulumuz 14.12.1931 Konya doğumlu Avukat Erbil KORU tarafından 1978 yılında yaptırılmaya başlanmıştır..
Erbil KORU amcası Mümtaz KORU’yu kendisine örnek almış ve hizmet mücadelesine böyle başlamıştır..

Avukat Erbil KORU 1978 de “ AYDINLIKEVLER ORTAOKUL YAPTIRMA YAŞATMA VE KORUMA DERNEĞİ” ismiyle ve kurucu üyeleri arasında okulun ilk müdürü Hüseyin GÜNDOĞAR, Avukat Erbil KORU, Aydınlıkevler Mahallesi Muhtarı Zeki TURHAN, Öğretmen Ahmet ORUÇ beylerinde bulunduğu bir derneği kurmuştur.
Aydınlıkevlerin imar planında okul yeri olarak görünen arsa belediyece henüz kamulaştırılmamış ve belediye arsası durumuna gelmediğinden Belediye Başkanına ve Encümen Eyelerine rica edilip imar planındaki okul yeri değiştirildi.
Bu arsanın bedeli belediyeye ödenip hazine namına satın alnırak tapuya MİLLİ EMLAK olarak tescil edildi.
Daha sonra İmar İskan Bakanlığınca da onaylanmıştır.
31.05.1978 de okulun temeli törenle atılmıştır.
Okul inşaatı 1979 yılı sonunda tamamlanarak 1980 yılı başında bugünkü haliyle eğitim ve öğretime başladı.
Okulun ilk ismi öğretime ilk açılışında AYDINLIKEVLER ORTAOKULU idi.
Sonra İl Danışma Kurulunun 28.03.1980 tarih ve 26 nolu kararıyla okulun ismi değitirilerek yaptıran kişinin isminin verilmesi kararlaştırıldı.
Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının 31.12.1980 tarih ve 150160 sayılı oluru ile okulun ismi AVUKAT ERBİL KORU ORTAOKULU oldu.
Lisenin de aynı binada açılması ile ERBİL KORU LİSESİ oldu.
( Reklam olur düşüncesiyle isimden Avukat kelimesi 1981 yılında çıkartılmıştır.)
