I am an Epilepsy Advocate, a public speaker, & a writer.
I offer awareness information to the public & to families managing epilepsy.
Over the years I have gathered many facts about epilepsy & its many related issues.
My information has been collected through a combination of research & from working with the professionals in the Epilepsy/Neurology Field.
Also, a great deal has been gained through my own personal experience with epilepsy..
- I witnessed my first seizure at age 4.
- lost a family member who had epilepsy to suicide when I was 12 years old.
- my brother developed epilepsy at age 13/14.
- my own personal battle with long term uncontrolled tonic clonic epilepsy began when I was 29 years old (1995).

1996 – 2009: Volunteer .
I first began having uncontrolled seizures in June 1995.
And in the spring of 1996 I was introduced to & became involved with Epilepsy Huron-Perth (now serving Huron-Perth-Bruce & Grey Counties).
Within a couple of years I was asked to join the Board of Directors - which I gladly did.
And when my uncontrolled seizures caused me to leave the workforce in 1998 my direction became even more clear.
Fully involved in volunteering & working on the Board I became President for the Organization in 2004.
I volunteered continuously for the organization up until my decision to retire in the summer of 2009..

Retirement didn't happen - at least not completely.
In 2009 I began my first internet support page - Epilepsy Awareness 2009.
From then on I have continued to share information & support individuals through the internet.
I am also writing & continuing to speak publicly about Epilepsy whenever the opportunity arises.

1986: Government Hairstylist Licence.
1999: Diploma - Interior Design (Highest Honors).
2007: Government Certificate - Recognition for Continued Commitment to Volunteerism.
