Detailed description is The Eminence Area Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection and EMS for the citizens of Eminence and the surrounding communities.
The Eminence Area Volunteer Fire Department covers an area of over 100 square miles from Round Spring North to the old Turkey Trot Tavern South and from the Flatrock Fire Tower West to Owls Bend West.
In that area the EAVFD responds to all structure fires, all wildfires on private property and all car wrecks.
The EAVFD also has mutual aid agreements with all neighboring departments to provide and receive assistance when requested.
We are dispatched by the Shannon County Sheriff’s Department and you should call them in the event of an emergency at (573) 226-3615..

The EAVFD is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.
We receive NO tax money and all of our operating expenses are funded through membership dues.

The Eminence Area Volunteer Fire Department currently consists of 23 volunteers.
We have a total of 8 senior firefighters, 4 cadets, 2 Driver/Operators, 4 officers, 1 EMT and 2 EMRs.
In addition 8 volunteers are EMRs in addition to their other duties.
Some of us on the department are related by blood and some are not however we base our organization on a family basis and consider everyone family.
That family includes not only ourselves and other emergency services workers and their family but also the members of our community..
