Im Juni 2010 gründeten einige ambitionierte Austrianer die Initiative „Eine Heimat für die Austria“ um neben sachlichen und sportlichen Argumenten auch ein finanzielles Argument für die Errichtung einer profitauglichen Fußball-Sportstätte innerhalb der Stadtgrenzen Salzburgs liefern zu können..

Eine Frage des Stils.
Von Beginn an war klar, dass durch den violetten Stadionfonds alleine kein Stadionbau finanziert werden kann.
Es ist aber nicht unser Stil sich ausnahmslos auf andere zu verlassen und uns danach ins gemachte Nest zu setzen.
Wir wollen der Öffentlichkeit zeigen, dass wir bereit sind violettes Herzblut, Schweiß und Geld in die Verwirklichung unserer Träume zu investieren.

Neustart 2013.
Nachdem verschiedene Projekte wie etwa das Salzach-Stadion (2011) gescheitert sind war es Ende 2013 an der Zeit das Projekt neu auszurichten.
Die sportliche Entwicklung der Austria hat die Infrastruktur längst überholt, Adaptierungen an der Anlage in Maxglan sind schon alleine wegen des Lizenzantrags für die 1.
Liga dringend notwendig geworden.

Um die Ernsthaftigkeit des Vorhabens zu unterstreichen wurde die Initative HfdA in einen Förderverein umgewandelt.
Dazu wurde die Planung eines konkreten Projekts, einer Hintertortribüne, in Angriff genommen.

Durch die 2014 beschlossene Förderung durch die Stadt Salzburg in der Höhe von 1.157.000 Euro hat das Infrastrukturprojekt in Maxglan neuen Schwung bekommen.
Die von den Austrianern schon geleisteten Spenden waren ein wichiger Punkt in der Diskussion und haben sicherlich dazu beigetragen den Gemeinderäten die Entscheidung zu erleichtern.
Auch wenn die Finanzierung der Hintertortribüne nun von der öffentlichen Hand gestemmt wird gibt es in Maxglan noch viel zu tun.
Unsere Aufgabe ist noch lange nicht abgeschlossen.
