Detailed description is Industrial metal working services, including welding, machining, bending, fabrication, and mobile services.
Welding and metalworking was simply my hobby and the means to pass time in 2011.
I was in school part time for Mechanical Engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago and working part time to support my family.
But what started as small side projects such as shoe racks and little go karts quickly turned into a side business as neighbors, friends, family, and acquaintances began asking for metalworking services..

By August of 2013, I had completely outgrown my single garage spot at home.
I was very fortunate that my boss at the internship I was working at had a small warehouse connected to the office he allowed me to rent out.
While this was significantly larger than my garage spot, it was still less than ideal to house all my equipment and allow room for growth.
Almost exactly one year later, I moved the shop about 5 miles down the road to a small, 1,500 sq/ft unit.
This location is where ECon Welding & Fabrication truly began to take form.
The company was officially incorporated, the job became my full-time job, and my first batch of employees were hired here.

In March of 2016, I had allowed the company to become completely buried in work, literally.
Metal frames, raw material, and table legs were stacked on top of each other and stored in every corner and every bit of free space available as we prepped them for shipping.
At this point I was faced with a very tough decision: Take a step back and limit the amount of incoming work to what we could physically handle, or invest heavily in a new shop.
I knew that if we moved into a unit that was only slightly bigger (~2,500 sq/ft), we would be faced with the same problem again shortly later.
By July, I had made the decision to purchase a new shop, which is where ECon Welding & Fabrication currently resides.
Our new shop has over 5,200 sq/ft and allows plenty of work space, office space, as well as dedicated painting, packaging, and storage areas, still with room to spare.

ECon Welding and Fabrication currently employs 7 full time employees, and manufactures approximately 300 table legs every month.
