Detailed description is Echo Ridge Stables, run by Equine Canada Certified Coach Laura Fanning, is again offering Summer Camp for kids ages 6 to 14.
Echo Ridge Stables offers camps for kids who are interested in learning about horses and a variety of disciplines.
Activities include western and English riding lessons, vaulting, stable management classes, games, and much more! .

The camp program is based on the multi-sport LTAD model and this year will include the incorporation of Equine Canada's new "First Gait" Program (see Equine Canada's website for more details).

Campers will receive a Certificate of Participation and upon completion of the week.

As always camp will incorporate a fitness and health component both for the riders and the horses, so the participants have to come ready to get physical!.

The goal is to impress upon campers the importance of overall health and fitness, and how it impacts performance in sports.

It will also help them better understand how important a basic fitness program is for a horse's overall health, happiness and willingness to work to perform discipline specific skills consistently well..

Campers will begin the day by preparing themselves and their horses to ride.
They will then participate in a variety of activities designed to help improve their balance, strength and flexibility under saddle.
After a cool-down and stretch campers will enjoy a healthy snack followed by a discussion about horse health and care (often led by a professional such as a farrier, vet or trainer)..

The afternoons will be spend doing physical games and activities both on and off the horses.
These will include, vaulting, gymkana games, jumping, bareback riding, relay races, horseshoes, crafts and nature walks etc.

Campers must come dressed in long pants and wearing boots with a heel.
