Beginner Pottery Classes.

Overview:.
This studio class is geared for the beginner potter but considers the stage of the ‘beginner’ to be one which takes a few class series.
You will first explore how centering on the wheel is equal to centering yourself; finding the stillpoint of your inner life.
Once this is found (and it can take awhile but you will get there!) small cups and bowls are demonstrated.
Week 5 is the ‘cut off date for wheel throwing, Week Six devoted to handles and surface design techniques.
Week 7 and 8 are spent glazing and decorating your ware.

Overview:.
Our Intermediate Ceramics Pottery Class will refine your throwing skills and teach you some more advanced techniques for making functional tableware on the potters wheel.
If you know the basics of making pottery on a potters wheel and you are comfortable with little bit more clay, the intermediate wheel throwing class will cover topics including throwing on bats, making larger forms (platters, bowls and pitchers) culminating in a thrown teapot.
Advanced glazing and trimming techniques will be introduced.
The class is a good choice, if you are comfortable with throwing at least 3 pounds of clay and would like to refine your pottery making skills..
