DTU Blender wishes to create opportunities for all international employees to meet new people, create a network and generally have a great time getting to know DTU and Denmark.
In addition, DTU Blender encourages the mixing of Danish and international employees by planning a variety of social events and cultural experiences..

What is the scope of our activities?.
We host short activities to allow employees to meet, socialise, and develop friendships.
A list of possible events includes:.

• Speeches and talks: basic introductions to research at DTU, presentations of cultural relevance.

• Social events: city walking tours, movie night, Friday bar.

What are the origins of DTU Blender?.
DTU Blender is an organisation that was created by the merger of two networks: the International Employees Network (IEN) and the DTU Socialt Netværk.
Founded in 2010, the IEN board of volunteer DTU employees worked hard to provide social activities for DTU’s 1200 international employees, with the aim of helping them to feel integrated, comfortable and happy in their working environment.
The DTU Socialt Netværk was an initiative led by International Faculty Services (IFS), which held an extensive series of social activities to create an intercultural social community, with the added objective of bringing Danes and international employees closer together..

How are we organised and funded?.
DTU Blender is run by a board of up to 12 volunteers drawn from the international community at DTU and International Faculty Services.
The board develops ideas for new events and facilitates those ideas into activities to enrich the working environment at DTU.
Calls for new board members will be made periodically according to need.
Financial support for activities and services is provided internally by IFS on a case-by-case basis.
Our activities will receive no external funding and, wherever possible, will not charge for participation.
