REUNION: Downs High School Alumni Association, Inc.
hosts an annual alumni reunion each year during the annual Downs Celebration.
A noon lunch is catered and enjoyed by DHSAA members and guests.
A short business meeting is conducted and followed by a program including the presentation of the recipient of the current year DHSAA, Inc.
scholarship.
The afternoon is enjoyed by all with an a open house to the public with lots of visiting, hugs, laughs and smiles as memories are shared between old friends.
Classes observing special reunions are invited to celebrate their day with everyone at the reunion at tables reserved just for them.

SCHOLARSHIP: An annual scholarship of at least $300 is awarded to a graduating senior of Lakeside High School.
The applicant must be a descendant of an eligible relative that was a graduate of Downs High School.
Eligible relatives are limited to any parent, grandparent, great grandparent, aunt or uncle.
Applicants are required to submit the application with an essay entitled ‘What Downs Means To Me’ and attend the DHS Alumni reunion to receive the scholarship.
Members would like to increase the amount of the award each year and fundraising for the scholarship is done during the reunion with raffles, ice cream floats and the sale of DHS Alumni items..

DRAGONS DEN: View Photos Memorabilia from the former Downs High School is housed at the ‘Dragons Den’ at 813 Morgan in downtown Downs.
Continued donations of DHS and Dragon memorabilia are needed so that the displays may be changed periodically.
As monetary donations are received, more remodeling of the building will take place.
The Dragons Den is open to the public during the week of the Downs Celebration.
If you would like to visit, local members are available to assist and numbers are posted in the window..

In 2011, there was a family grant of $500 yearly to be used as an additional scholarship.
