Potter began his early dance studies at the age of seven with the versatile and talented Charmaine Sayles-Wall at The Charmaine School of Dance in his hometown of Springfield, Ma.
Mr.
Potter attended the Dance Educators of America Training School in New York City where he studied under such renowned dancers as Charles Kelly and Paul Draper, receiving his bachelor’s in dance in 1972 and his Masters Degree in Dance Education and Musical Theatre Arts in 1974..

Mr.
Potter has had a lifetime of dance and theatre experience.
In 1977, he established the Callboard Theatre Company, as a resident company at the famed Academy of Music Opera House in Northampton, MA.
Later he moved the Callboard to Enfield, CT.
Over the years Mr.
Potter has produced, directed and choreographed such blockbuster musicals as “A Chorus Line”, “42nd Street”, “Mame”, “Hello Dolly”, ‘Crazy For You” and “L’il Abner”.
His productions offered a showcase for many local talents throughout the years, many of whom have gone on to further fame.
His productions have provided the Pioneer Valley with many cultural opportunities throughout the years..

Along with producing, directing and choreographing, David has had a long standing stage performing career over the years in roles like George M Cohen in “George M”, Billy Bigelow in “Carousel”, Billy Early in “No No Nanette”, and Bobby Child in Gershwin’s “Crazy For You”, to name a few..

Mr.
Potter’s love of teaching has nourished hundreds of young children’s thirst to learn how to dance, many of whom have paid it forward and gone on to teach or perform as their life’s work.
David’s never ending enthusiasm for dance and love of children is clearly visible in his work.
