My name is Bob Teaff and I am a Certified Texas Barbeque Pitmaster..

I was born and raised in Taylor, Texas, an area famous for its barbeque.
I attended Texas A&M University then spent 30 years as a marketing consultant to the sports and entertainment industries.
I retired several years ago and my wife and I bought a home in Shelbyville to be closer to the grandchildren..

Last year (with the help of several of my Texas pitmaster buddies) I designed and built a permanent Texas style pit capable of cooking over 200 lbs of meat.
I spent much of the year “seasoning” the pit and tweaking its unique design.
My philosophy is that barbeque is cooked on a pit.
Steak, hamburgers and hotdogs are cooked on a grill.
Just so there's no misunderstanding, I am not a “griller”..

Texas barbeque is not about the sauce.
It's all about the slow cooking process that delivers tenderness, moisture and of course flavor.
That's not to say there's anything wrong with a little sauce on the side.

During the year there are many activities that bring us all together – family gatherings, wedding receptions, company picnics, anniversary parties, birthdays and other special events.
