The music is loud and so are we! Crossroads Christian Church was started in 2003 with the simple vision to reach people who didn't already go to church.
We communicate our message through the use of music, video, games, humor, and other elements that deal with our culture.
We also have lots of fun.

There are lots of churches out there who do things the same way-- the "traditional" way.
They do things the way churches have done things for the last 100 years.
But we wanted to focus on doing things in a ‘new’ way.
You see, your typical guy off the street would walk into most of those churches and think, "what's this organ music they're playing and what do they mean when they use funny words like 'redemption', 'sanctification', and 'washed by the blood'?".

So we wanted to start a church that your average Joe could walk in off the street and say, "Wow! Why haven't I been here before? They've got great music, fun services, video clips, skits, and the guy speaking actually had something useful to say to me-- something relevant." We wanted to start a church where people who never went to church before, could come to and find Jesus.

We also wanted to start a church specifically for people who didn't already go to church and not ‘steal’ members from surrounding churches.
Our churches are so full, but yet there are so many people who still haven’t been introduced to Jesus Christ..

So a few guys with the same vision started meeting in a basement to talk, pray, and plan about the new church.
How would we advertise? What would we call it? How would we describe our mission? What were our values? Important stuff like that.
Well, with God’s help and guidance we decided how to advertise, what to name it, the mission, and values..

Before we started having public services, a group of about five of us met weekly to pray and plan.
Our prayer then was, "Lord we can't do this, but You can." From the beginning the church was committed to reaching out in ways that we’ve never tried before to people who haven’t been reached..

In February or so, we started meeting in a rented building for a couple of hours per week.
A couple of months later we were running about 30 people.
Most of us were serving or willing to serve and we were all excited..
.
Then on Sunday, April 6, 2003 we had our first public service in the Auditorium of Licking Valley High School.
We had right about 200 people there and we were really pumped up at the way God was working.
Many of the people had not been regular church-goers, but were looking to see what this new church was all about.
Many, if not most of those original 30 people are still with us.
And we are very proud of the fact that every Sunday since that April 6th, we have had many new faces every single Sunday.
God continues to bless Crossroads with growth.
