Ce territoire se transforme, en particulier sous la pression touristique et foncière, comme beaucoup de régions littorales.
Cela induit un développement économique mais aussi quelques problèmes structurels, parmi lesquels une grande difficulté pour les jeunes actifs de se loger, un vieillissement de la population, mais aussi une dégradation des milieux naturels, qui font pourtant toute la qualité de vie et l'attractivité de la région..
