(DBA) CORE Guidance, is a Non-Profit 501(c)3.
The purpose of this project is to insure that individuals and their families can financially afford mental health treatment services from licensed treatment providers.
The lower middle class with single parent incomes earning 32,000 a year or more, are faced with high detectable plans and unfortunately do not qualify for medical assistance, CHIP or Single County Authority support where all of their treatment expenses are being covered.
These families are facing deductibles in the thousands of dollars and is not uncommon.
In fact, in Pennsylvania, more than half the plans offered for sale through HealthCare.gov, the federal online marketplace, have a deductible of $3,000 or more; some as high as $6,500.
Once you add in several hundred dollars per month for your plan premium, a rate that may or may not be lower than it used to be and add in a $3,000 or more deductible, the average individual or single parent income family could be paying over $5,000 out of pocket in a year before their “affordable” insurance kicks in.
This is true for employer sponsored plans as well.
The insurance plans they are now required to purchase under Obamacare is forcing our central region families to choose insurance or food, insurance or rent, insurance or heat during a cold winter.
And if they don’t choose insurance, a hefty fine awaits as well.
This funding could help these identified clients by augmenting their out of pocket expenses by placing them with a licensed provider who is paneled with their insurance company, where in the provider can bill the insurance provider to drive down the detectable and the funding can be utilized to reimburse the out of pocket expense the family is responsible for.
Once the detectable is met for this family, their insurance will begin to pay their treatment expenses.
CORE Guidance wishes to remedy this disparity for these victims, to insure they can financially afford treatment services by utilizing all the licensed providers within our community who have agreed to participate.
As a result, we are not only helping these victims pay for the services they need, but also helping them drive down their high deductibles..

Within the first year of implementation CORE Guidance with the aid of Spaw Counseling Services, will develop a database made up of licensed private providers who are paneled with insurance companies.
This database will help identify those providers and their participation as in networked providers within the 3rd party billing system.
When billing an insurance company, each insurance company provides a fee schedule for contracted out-patient mental health services and can be used to track and monitor the private practice licensed providers billing activities referred to as an EOB.
These EOB’s for each client can serve as verification that the service was billed to the client’s insurance company drawing down the deductible at the contracted rate and the reimbursement can be generated for the out of pocket expense for up to 10 sessions for each individual falling into limbo at a 100% reduction rate or when deductible is met, whichever comes first.
