Detailed description is I am a counsellor who specializes in working with Trauma and it's consequences: Chronic Pain, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Migraines and AutoImmune Disorders Hello! I'm Colleen Pilkey, a Social Worker who has been working as a Mental Health Therapist for over 13 years, specializing in working with trauma (neurobiologically) for over 11 years.

I work holistically with the mind and body together to help release built up adrenalin that essentially "dysregulates" our nervous systems and gives us symptoms such as depression, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, gastrointestinal issues, migraines/headaches, and autoimmune disorders to name a few.
I have been trained to help facilitate the natural release of adrenalin/stress from the nervous system, so that my clients can become more "regulated" and healthy, mentally AND physically.

I work with the part of the brain that stores trauma and stress: the Subconscious/Limbic System/Reptilian Brain, which actually heals trauma and built up stress in the nervous system, rather that just treating the symptoms of trauma.
I still work in the old ways as well, such as working cognitively to challenge distorted thinking, which can add to our anxiety and depression.
