The pre-degree commerce group was started in 1981 with a sanctioned strength of 80 students.
The commerce department was established during 1982 with the starting of B.Com course having 34 students on the rolls and Mr.

John who joined the department after a notable period of service in S.H College Thevara was appointed H.O.D in 1983.
