CMU cycling is a Division 1 program in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference, and is recognized as a Varsity program by the National Collegiate Cycling Association, which falls under the jurisdiction of USA Cycling.
We currently compete at all five collegiate national championships which include Road, Track, MTB (gravity and endurance), Cyclocross and BMX..

CMU enjoys attracting riders from all over the US and around the globe who seek both a great education and venue to pursue their dream..

Dues will be collected each semester that riders participate.
The dues of $300 per semester cover the cost of a team kit (one per year), transportation, lodging and race registration.
Dues are critical and represent a tremendous value to the members and typically have paid for itself at the end of the first racing weekend.
Individualized coaching is available to all team members at no cost.
Testing and physiological monitoring at the Monfort Family Human Performance Lab is also available at no cost to team members..

The racing schedule is busy.
The season starts in the fall right as school starts.
The team will do structured training rides that are typically not mandatory to allow for various class and work schedules, but participation is encouraged.
Track season and MTB season run concurrently through September.
There are no conference track events so only the national A track squad will be prepping for track nationals.
The team will travel to mountain bike events every weekend through late October until mountain bike nationals, with all events hosting both endurance and gravity events.
The team then transitions to cyclocross, where most of the races will be local.
There may be one or two conference events that require travel during cross season, which ends with nationals in early January.
The spring is dedicated to road racing primarily with BMX nationals occurring in March or April.
Currently, there are no conference BMX races on the calendar, but the local track has a very robust race/practice schedule.
All disciplines receive training and coaching support year round..

Scholarships are available to team members based on merit and awarded annually on a case-by-case basis.
To be considered for a cycling scholarship a 3.0 overall GPA is required..
