Biography.

Jahain began her earliest dance education at age 3 in Canton Ohio with Susan Vasbinder and moved to Fairport NY where she studied and received her inspiration to dance professionally with Lynn Ashby.
From there she became a dance major at Mercyhurst Collage from 1988 to 1989.
She later graduated with a BFA in Performance and Choreography from SUNY Purchase in 1993.
Jahain joined the renowned Momix Dance Theater with whom she preformed internationally.
And, assisted in the choreography in their acclaimed work Baseball.
In 1995, Jahain was inspired to collaborate with artists, composers and other designers and co-founded Chalasa Dance Theater in Stamford, CT and received numerous grants and awards for their works and choreography, most notably, Icarus, Cubism, Viral Spiral, Bluballs, and Football.
During her time in Connecticut, Jahain was commissioned by Connecticut Ballet to choreograph their word premier of Pearls.
Jahain served a term of Vice-President of the Loft Artists Association and later as Chair of their performing arts committee.
Also at that time she was on the ballet and modern dance faculty at the Ballet School of Stamford.
In 2004, Jahain moved to Port Washington, NY at the Berest Dance Center.
In addition to teaching ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary classes, she brought with her the creative and collaborative spirit of her former company Chalasa.
At Berest she had the opportunity of educating her students in the art of improvisation and choreography which allowed students to create their own dances and perform them in special showings.
Jahain is thrilled to be able to bring and share her experiences to her new dance family at Classical and Contemporary Dance of Webster, LLC..
