Detailed description is The CIU Prison Initiative provides Biblical training for men and women incarcerated in the South Carolina prison system.
The CIU Prison Initiative provides training for men and women incarcerated in the South Carolina prison system.
A fully accredited Associate of Arts Degree in Bible is awarded to those who meet spiritual, academic, and behavioral qualifications.
In addition to their study time, the men and women invest 2-6 hours a week in cell to cell evangelism and Bible teaching.
After graduation these men and women are dispersed to prisons across the state to serve under the supervision of their local chaplain.

Since the start of the program in 2007, 110 men and women have graduated from the program and are currently serving in 20+ institutions throughout South Carolina..
