Detailed description is Le château de Promery est une ancienne maison forte, du, qui se dresse sur la commune de Pringy dans le département de la Haute-Savoie en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.Le château fait l’objet d’une inscription partielle au titre des monuments historiques par arrêté du.
Seules les façades et toitures ainsi que deux porteries sont inscrites.SituationLe château de Promery est situé dans le département français de la Haute-Savoie sur la commune de Pringy, à au nord-nord-est du bourg.HistoireSon origine nous reste inconnue ; son édification pourrait être antérieure au et être la possession de la famille Trombert.Le 14 novembre 1316, Pierre de Monthouz, y passe un acte : « en sa maison forte de Promery ».
Les Monthoux la garderont jusqu'en 1578.
Claude de Monthouz la donne à cette date à Humbert de Menthon-Lornay, son petit-fils, avec interdiction de l'aliéner.
Ce dernier la cède le 22 novembre 1618 à René Favre de la Valbonne, fils ainé d'Antoine Favre, sénateur et président du conseil Genevois.René Favre y fait d'importants travaux et la lègue, en 1656, à son fils Gabriel Philibert avec la condition qu'il fasse don d'une somme de livres en faveur de la chapelle de Promery ; ce qui sera fait deux ans plus tard.
Gabriel Philibert meurt en 1693.
Sa fille l'ayant reçue en dot en 1687, en conservera la jouissance jusqu'à sa mort survenue en 1754.
Par procès, la maison forte passe en 1772 à Marie de Villaret, fille de Marc Antoine, lui-même fils ainé de Gabriel Philibert, qui avait contesté la donation faite à sa sœur par leur père.
