Detailed description is Le château de Beaufort, olim castorum Bellefortis, est un ancien château fort du, centre de la seigneurie de Beaufort, dont les vestiges se dressent sur la commune de Beaufort dans le département de Savoie en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.SituationLe château de Beaufort est située dans le département français de Savoie sur la commune de Beaufort, à deux kilomètres au nord-ouest du bourg, au sommet de la colline des Vanches, dominant le confluent du Doron et du Dorinet, à d'altitude.HistoireL'origine du château de Beaufort est fort ancienne, de même que la famille de Beaufort.
