Church on Mount Zion was founded by Rev.
S.
S.
Mohanty on 7th March 1990.
At that time Rev.
S.
S.
Mohanty had come from Hyderabad with a big vision to start a church and a ministry in Odisha.
He chose the capital city of Odisha i.e.
Bhubaneswar as the office base..

I, Pastor S Caleb, joined with the church in the year 1993 in Bhubaneswar.
After one year of my joining, I was sent as a missionary to Cuttack (a city in Odisha), and by the grace of God I was able to start a new church within a year and served there for around four years.
After four years of my ministry in Cuttack, I was called back to Bhubaneswar to serve as a pastor in the main church as the founding pastor S.
S.
Mohanty decided to move out to start a separate ministry, and ever since that day I am serving in this church..

Right now we have 3 branch churches in different districts of Odisha, and in Bhubaneswar we have 2 branch churches and 7 house churches.
Every Sunday we are having worship service with 150 believers.
Most of them are from Hindu background and have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ.
Most of our church members are youth and children.
Our main focus is church planting among unreached people.
We conduct regular Bible study, cottage meeting, women fellowship, youth meeting, outreach programs, etc.
We are full gospel, sound doctrine charismatic, spirit filled church, following the biblical rules and regulations like the sacrament water baptism, Lord’s Supper, Baptism of Holy Spirit, washing the feet of the saints.
We conduct youth meet on last Thursday of every month for all the Christian youths of Bhubaneswar where everyone invites their friends, and we call this program “YOUTH JUNCTION”.
God is working miraculously in Bhubaneswar through this program..

We conduct summer children camp of 15 days (twice a year), Youth retreat for the purpose of a spiritual refreshment and some teaching of the Word of God during summer vacation, as summer vacation is the only longest vacation for the students.
We take this opportunity and undertake many ministry activities where we involve all the youths and children in that endeavor.
We also conduct evangelism program to witness Christ in these occasions.
We conduct small group meetings to pray for, encourage one another and devise new strategies to preach the gospel.
During last summer vacation, we had a wonderful program for children where more than 150 children participated in two different areas of our local church and this was the first time and first of its kind with so many children.
We are very much encouraged with the enthusiastic participation of each children and hence praying and planning to organize more and more such programs for youths and children in the days to come, and on a regular basis.
We have a sister in our church who has done her training from Children Evangelical Fellowship (CEF) to do ministry among Children and we utilize her talents and gifts to advance God’s Kingdom among youths and children..
