As members of the Christian Science Society in Dixon IL, we enjoy working and praying together to meet the needs of our local and global communities in the spirit of unconditional love..
Our central focus is to provide inspiring Sunday worship services and Wednesday testimony meetings, but it doesn’t end there.
Based on the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder Christian Science, we are seriously committed to healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing the lepers, and casting out demons by faithfully applying Jesus’ teachings and methods.
Admittedly, we have a long way to go before we fully master these skills, but we’re grateful for even modest demonstrations..
In her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Eddy writes: "Through all the disciples experienced, they became more spiritual and understood better what the Master had taught.
His resurrection was also their resurrection.
It helped them to raise themselves and others from spiritual dulness and blind belief in God into the perception of infinite possibilities." (p.
34).
In the spirit of that discipleship, we invite one and all to explore the "infinite possibilities" of Christ.
It takes time and effort, even struggle, to grow spiritually.
It takes study and prayer and quiet listening.
But with practice, this spiritual work can be woven into the moments of busy days..
We stand on the shoulders of those who pioneered the teachings of Christian Science in Dixon more than a century ago.
