Detailed description is Christ UMC's purpose is to continually be growing into what God wants us to be and to always be a place where you & your family can grow closer in Christ A five acre site on Byron Planation Road, given by Dr.
C.R.
Hodges, was chosen as a location for Christ UMC in 1979.
Ten members were chosen from the fifty families who signed a commitment to comprise a "Steering Committee" with Larry Price as chairman.
As God's spirit worked in answer to prayers, the Church began to move with haste.
Bi-monthly fellowship meetings were held along with prayer .
services and covered dish suppers.
The use of Deerfield Windsor private elementary school campus was used until church building was completed.
Our "Constituting Service" was held on June 15, 1980.
Edwin M.
Cooper, Jr.
was appointed as pastor and 132 adults stepped forward with him to bring this church into existence..
