The roots of public education in Cherry Hill extend back to the mid-1700s, when a log cabin school house was built in the present location of Ellisburg.
In the post-World War II years, the former Delaware Township—renamed Cherry Hill in 1961—evolved from an agricultural region to a bustling suburban community.
As the population grew, our Cherry Hill Public Schools grew as well.
Today, the district has 12 elementary schools: Clara Barton, J.F.
Cooper, Bret Harte, James Johnson, Joyce Kilmer, Kingston, A.
