C'est une composante de l'université Blaise-Pascal.
1990 : Création du département Génie mathématique et modélisation.
1991 : Création du réseau Eiffel 1993 : Transformation du département Génie informatique en une nouvelle école, l'Institut supérieur d'informatique, de modélisation et de leurs applications 1993 : Création de l'option Ingénierie de projets logistiques 2003 : Élargissement du réseau Eiffel en réseau Polytech 2006 : Changement de nom d'usage en Polytech Clermont-Ferrand 2010 : Création de l'option ÉnergieEnseignementPolytech Clermont-Ferrand est une école polytechnique universitaire, d'un effectif total de 600 élèves-ingénieurs répartis sur trois années.
Polytech diplôme ainsi plus de 200 élèves par an.
Le diplôme d'Ingénieur de Polytech Clermont est reconnu par la Commission des titres d'ingénieur.
