Detailed description is Welcome to the Center for the Well-Being of Military Children and Families housed in the College of Education and Human Development at UTSA.
The Center's educational programs and activities are designed to help teachers, administrators, counselors, school psychologists, health and wellness professionals understand and respond to the needs of military-connected children and families in San Antonio.
Professional development, including workshops, courses, and conferences, are available to both pre-service and practicing professionals through UTSA's College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) in conjunction with the Military Child Education Coalition, military educators and local health and wellness professionals.

In support of these activities, the COEHD is developing specialized course offerings and educational programs for increasing the ability of educators and health and wellness professionals to work effectively with the the military children and families whom they serve..

Faculty and students in the COEHD are also engaged in outreach activities related to military children and families, including: consulting with classroom teachers and providing support groups for children whose parents are deployed, providing counseling services and coordinating support groups for military families.
Student veterans and other military connected students in the COEHD are encouraged to focus their research efforts on topics that are relevant to their experiences, and they often collaborate with faculty members in doing this work.
