Atualmente, são atendidos cerca de 2000 pacientes..
O Centro Espírita Nosso Lar Casas André Luiz, foi fundado em 28 de janeiro de 1949.
Uma Instituição de caráter filantrópico, sem fins lucrativos que por orientação espiritual optou pelo atendimento gratuito a pessoas com deficiência intelectual, em todos os graus de comprometimento: leve, moderado, grave e profundo com ou sem deficiência física associada.

Contando inicialmente com atendimento para 15 crianças carentes com deficiência intelectual, em uma residência na cidade de Guarulhos, logo sentiu-se a necessidade de ampliar o espaço em razão da enorme procura da sociedade.
Assim, no ano de 1959, foi adquirido um terreno de 70.000 m², onde foram construídas as 4 Unidades hoje existentes, respectivamente nos anos de 1962, 1964, 1968 e 1974.

Atualmente são atendidos cerca de 1600 pacientes, dos quais 600 são residentes na Unidade de longa Permanência necessitando de cuidados por toda a vida, e os demais em regime ambulatorial.
