We are a fully volunteer brigade and some of the incidents types we attend include: structure fires, car fires, motor vehicle accidents (including rescue), industrial rescue, grass and scrub fires, hazardous materials and many more..

As well as attending fires, Carrum Downs Fire Brigade is also involved in community awareness and safety, Fire Safe Kids, kindergarten visits and many fundraising activities..

Carrum Downs Fire Brigade trains on Tuesday nights and all members are required to attend the fire station one Sunday a month to maintain the station and grounds and check all the equipment on the trucks..

When joining as an operational firefighter you are required to successfully complete a course in Wildfire Minimum Skills and Respond to Isolated/Remote Structure.
From the time you join as a member it will be approximately 3-6 months before you complete your initial training and you are able to attend fires and incidents with the Brigade..

We have 38 fire fighters, 18 junior fire fighters and 10 Brigade Support Team members, who work together on a regular basis to make sure that our Brigade runs smoothly.
