Canine Country Club

244 Scotch Hill Rd

Rutland,

Vermont,United-states - 05743

Detailed description is Day Boarding, Overnight Boarding, Canine Massage, Canine Reiki.
I have always had a strong love for dogs...specifically senior dogs with special needs, dogs with behavioral issues, and basically the ‘underdogs’.
After owning horses for 36 years, I had to say goodbye to my once-in-a-lifetime 35 year old horse, Logan.
I knew I wanted to pursue my passion of working with dogs at my home, so my other horses went to live with a very close friend nearby where I can still see and ride them when I choose, and I started the long process of remodeling my horse barn into a dog boarding facility.
Because I have mostly rescued dogs with behavioral issues, I oftentimes had difficulty finding a place to board them that could tend to their specific needs such as medications every 4 hours, escape artists, being fearful of people, not being able to interact with other dogs so doggie daycare wasn’t a possibility....
the list goes on! I saw a need for that type of facility and followed my dreams.
I have kept it on a small scale so that I can give each dog the individual care that they require.
If they don’t get along with other dogs, they don’t have to interact with any at all.
If they do want to play with other dogs, I have a few of my own that welcome friendly dogs and will show them a fun time during their stay, or perhaps another boarder will fit their play style.
My very first guest was the only dog staying here at the time.
Because he was going to be in the kennel overnight in a strange place, probably missing his family, I asked permission to bring him in the house with me so he wouldn't feel afraid being all alone.
That is the kind of place I would want my dogs to stay at, and I want Canine Country Club to be the kind of place that every dog can fit in and feel safe and loved.

The large dog yard is over 12,000 square feet of mostly grass, some sand and stone.
The fence is 6’ aluminized chain link with a 2’ smooth angled wire barrier at the top to deter jumping or climbing out, and 1 ½” slate stone along the bottom perimeter to deter digging out.
Gates are kept padlocked at all times, and the counter in the main entrance was designed to prevent dogs in my care from running out the front door.
I have 3 individual, 10x20 shaded kennels within that area for dogs that aren’t quite ready to interact with others, but still want to be where the action is.
The individual indoor/outdoor kennels have fencing on the tops of each one to stop jumping and climbing,, as well as privacy panels between each dog.
They have access through a custom designed dog window to their all-weather outdoor run that is also covered by a roof.
Radiant heat floors inside and outside will keep them warm all winter, and air conditioning will keep them cool all summer.
The small dog area is almost complete, and that will consist of a bank of large cages and they will have their own play area outside, safe from the bigger dogs.
My own small dogs don’t like to be out in the big dog yard, or in the larger indoor/outdoor run, they prefer a cage or crate in a quieter place instead.
Which is why I designed a specific area just for small dogs.
However, if they would like an indoor/outdoor run, and there is availability, they are welcome to it.
I am in the process of having a camera system installed so I can check in on the dogs at any time from wherever I am, and I hope to bring that same convenience to the clients at a later date.
My own pack has tested all of the safety features, and if there was something I didn't think of,,they found a way to show me what I missed and it was addressed! .
.
Therapeutic Massage and Reiki services for the 4 legged guests, as well as any outside dogs by appointment, that need a little extra help to feel their best will be available.
Message for more info and rates.
I am a graduate of Equissage School of Equine and Canine Massage Therapy, as well as completing the Usui Reiki Level I at the Pyramid Holistic Wellness Center and am now a Reiki practitioner.
.
.
I am not a trainer, but I can give what dogs need most… care, compassion, love and understanding.
It’s all about the dogs and I will do whatever I can to make their stay as fun, and as safe as possible.
