Detailed description is The Camp Crook Theater Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the local history of Camp Crook, SD.
The Camp Crook Theater Museum in Camp Crook, SD originally served as the community hall for dances, weddings, and other local functions.
On July 4, 1914 there was a dance and rodeo celebration to mark the concrete building’s grand opening.
Up through the mid-1950s, the space above the entryway served as the projection room for the local theater.
Furthermore, the attached garage housed the 200 light DC generator to supply energy for the town.
This garage space was later converted into the Fire Hall..

In 2007, the City sold the building and the Camp Crook Theater Museum was founded in order to preserve its history.
It is now open to the public annually in mid-August during the Harding County Fair and at other various times throughout the year.
