WELSCH, EHNI Y CIA.
FUNDADA EN 1858”, era la filial peruana de la empresa alemana GEO EHNI & CO.
dedicada a la venta de relojes, joyería, porcelanas, cristales, adornos, tabaco; así como artículos de plata hecha a mano.

Wilhelm Ehni, director de la matriz alemana, en uno de sus viajes a Lima, participó en la creación de la Cámara de Comercio de Lima.

A fines del siglo, la matriz alemana de GEO EHNI & CO.
envió los montos para la construcción de un nuevo local, y en 1906 se inaugura el edificio en la esquina del Jirón de la Unión 498, a una cuadra de la Plaza Mayor.
Esta moderna edificación tuvo probablemente la primera estructura metálica del Perú, traída desde Alemania.
Tenía una hermosa puerta principal de bronce de 4.60 metros de altura, diseñada y fabricada en Stuttgart que no pudo estar en la inauguración del edificio, ya que el gobierno alemán obligó a que fuese primero expuesta en el Museo de Artes Aplicadas durante dos años..

Con motivo del Centenario de la República en 1921, la empresa recibió un premio por su importante participación.
