Detailed description is Brooks farm offers quality produce to the Louisville area.
Our vegetables are grown sustainably and without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides.
Brooks Farm is located in the back hills of Breckinridge County, Kentucky nestled in what is known locally as Norton's Valley.
The property is mostly wooded in addition to pasture and hay land and room enough for a large vegetable garden.
My ancestry goes back at least four generations in this Valley.
In 2008 my grandfather passed away leaving this land to my stewardship.
I didn't grow up as a farmer, but with an eye toward care and sustainable practices I was determined to make something of this land..

After graduating college in 2011 with a degree in philosophy I began a two year internship at a local CSA and market farm where I learned the fundamentals of how to grow and market fresh produce.
After selling my produce at farmers markets in the Louisville area during the 2012 season, the Brooks Farm veggie CSA launched in 2013.
My first 2 CSA seasons were successful ones and I am looking forward to what the 2015 season will bring.

In addition to offering naturally and sustainably grown produce I am currently transitioning my grandfather's cattle operation to a grass fed and finished system and will soon begin direct marketing our beef.
This year the farm has also seen the introduction of a flock of laying hens and we are now offering an egg CSA in addition to our vegetable CSA.
