Detailed description is Our mission is to raise money and awareness in honor and memory of our granddaughter, Brooke, for the athletes of the North area of Special Olympics.
Originally the CRCC personnel club of Crossroads Correctional Center was in charge of sponsoring and running the tournament for Special Olympics.
It was renamed for our granddaughter, Brooke Lauren Leitterman, who was an avid and enthusiastic Special Olympics athlete from Cameron, MO.
She developed AML leukemia at 8 years of age and lost her battle at age 11 1/2, earning her angel wings and going to Heaven on 11/23/2004.
We miss her so much, but the one thing that she loved the most was her Special Olympics competitions.
Our family has taken over the sponsorship and running of the tournament since 2010, and we continue to raise money in her honor and memory which allows special needs kids to travel, stay and participate in the local and state competitions for Special Olympics at no cost to them or their families.
We are extremely proud that we have been able to triple the money raised since taking over the management of the tournament and that all the money stays right here in NW Missouri for our Special Olympics athletes!
