Bribie Island Butterfly House is a not-for-profit community project completely run by volunteers.
We have recently opened our brand new facility to visitors and 100% of profits will be donated to charities..
The new butterfly house is made up of a breeding laboratory where we raise the caterpillars from the eggs which are mostly laid by the butterflies in our house.
You can wonder past the viewing area and see our volunteers at work - busily feeding our hungry caterpillars and maintaining the strict hygiene regulations required for such a task.

Wonder through the tunnel and take the time to watch the short video capturing the entire life cycle of a monarch butterfly.

Then out to the magical, flower filled butterfly house.
We have hundreds of butterflies flying on any day.
Enjoy the magic, relax & witness the magical flight of these amazing creatures.
You will notice many quirky attractions as you wonder through the garden.

We have volunteer 'flight attendants' who will take you through an informative guided tour of the 'Bribie Island Airport' as a part of your entry fee.

We have a seating area and coffee machine - however no other food or drink facilities.
Bribie has many wonderful coffee shops, clubs and restaurants to enjoy The butterfly house is wheelchair friendly and we have 2 abled and 1 disabled toilet.

We have a strict rule on entry that the butterflies are not to be touched or grabbed.
Their health and safety is our #1 priority.
If they do land on you please have your cameras ready.
You can encourage this by wearing bright colours and flowers..
We are always looking for more dedicated volunteers to help with the project so we can open on more days.
