I have been a trained photographer for over 24 years.
Before attending Stivers and Colonel White Schools for the Visual and Performing Arts in Dayton, Ohio, I started learning my beloved craft from my step-father who was a photographer in the Air Force.
From a very young age, we would often go on photo shoots around the neighborhood and various places on base and then process our images in the lab; which originally sparked my passion for images and photography.
During high school I would often take pictures and portraits of my friends and fellow students during school events and for senior portraits.
In middle and high school, I received specialized training in black and white photography using various types of cameras, digital imaging and various development techniques.
I won many awards for my photography in many statewide competitions..

During and after high school, I was a studio photographer with a very popular national photography chain and spent many years capturing precious moments and birthdays and helped create memories.
Always being drawn to the southwest, under cultural/landscape influences such as Laura Gilpin and Ansel Adams and photo-journalistic influences of Dorothea Lange, I moved to Albuquerque, NM.
Immersed in such a beautiful and diverse landscape and surrounded by so many cultures, New Mexico has earned the place of home in my heart..

I have "played around" in recent years while photographing under the name phlickphoto and flickfotography, both named after the influence of Dallas band, Flickerstick, who was the winner of VH1's series "Bands on the Run".
I have now decided (again), after realizing (again), that I want to do this for the rest of my life.
I always wanted to be a photographer when I grew up, and the time is here!.
