As a kid Jay always loved to tinker.
He took apart bikes, radios, cars, you name it, which drove his father nuts.
So it wasn’t a surprise when he decided to enroll in Sequoia Institute’s Climate Control & Refrigeration program after high school.
What was supposed to take 12 months only took Jay 9 months to complete.
He graduated at the top of his class and quickly got a job as a Service Technician for a local HVAC company.
However, Jay had his sights on something bigger and decided after a short stay to apply for a Utility Engineer position with the Stationary Engineer Union Local 39.
He was a shoe in! Jay decided that being a Utility Engineer was great but he needed something more challenging and wanted to move up the ranks.
His boss sensed his desire and offered to move Jay to a full Journeyman level Assistant Chief position at 3 high rise buildings in downtown San Jose.
It was here that Jay and his boss took care of 100% of all 3 buildings mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other facility equipment.
After 6 fun filled years, Jay had enough experience to apply for the State of California Contractor Licensing Exam.
Of course, he passed on his first try and Bradford Air & Heating was born..

Jay isn’t all about Bradford Air & Heating.
When he’s not working, he loves to spend time with his family, work on his hot rod, participate in competitive bass fishing tournaments, go camping and just be outside.
